The investiture is a ceremony that takes place when you join Hudson Explorer Scouts. You will need to make the promise and understand the Scout law.
Below is a brief summary of what happens.
Other traditions Scouting has are, The Scout Sign, a three finger salute, the opening and closing of the Scouting evening, or event, holding a parade on Reembrace Sunday, and many more that will just become custom to your scouting life.
The Scout Association is an inclusive and values based Movement which supports its Members to engage with spirituality in an exciting and meaningful way. The Scout Association is an open Association and does not identify with one faith exclusively.
Membership is open to all those individuals who share our fundamental values, and are willing to make a commitment to them, expressed by the Promise and Law.
There are a number of variations of the Promise to reflect the range of faiths, beliefs and attitudes of individuals within Scouting. We believe that this approach is inclusive. Celebrating and understanding difference, including difference in faiths and beliefs, is an important aspect of the educational and developmental side of Scouting.
It is up to the Explorer (in consultation with his or her parents / guardians / carers) to decide which form of the promise he/she wants to use. Just let the leaders know before you are invested.

The Scout Law is a core part of the life of our unit and of our lives as Explorer Scouts or Leaders.
