In the summer of 2023 we are currently planning an international camp to Switzerland, for 12 days packed full of adventure and activities at Kander 100.
We will be camping at one of the worlds best Scout campsite 'Kandersteg International Scout Center' or KISC for short.
The dates will be 27th July and 8th August 2023.
The different flower to the normal Hudson logo is called the edelweiss, it's the national flower of Switzerland.
The red background is the outline map of Switzerland, followed by the Union flag.
The mountain range at the top refers to the famous Swiss Alps.
KISC reference stands for Kandersteg International Scout Center.
There are more leaders attending, but not taking on the organizing of this international adventure.
There is two different roles of additional leaders going, ones that are there to help support the Scouts and the Explorers do all the activates. The other group are there to help us in lots of other ways, to make sure this will be a week the Scouts will never forget.
The perfect activity for any group interested in learning the basics of rock climbing, or for intermediate climbers looking to experience a range of different types of outdoor climbs.
Take a memorable trip across the stunning Lötschenpass, an alpine crossing used as a trading route since Roman Times.
A favourite, and a perfect introduction to white water rafting. Cruise through class II-III rapids, in the beautiful Simmental Valley.
Set in a majestic Alpine environment on a mountain pass, the Grimsel trip starts with a breath-taking 50m abseil.
The surrounding areas of Kandersteg has a variety of great mountain bike trails to offer for all abilities. A great place for beginners and more experienced riders alike.
There will be an international volleyball and football tournament as well as some other sporting challenges to test your skills! A great afternoon of international fun and competition.
With over 120 summer activities to choose from,
there is plenty do keep busy during our week there.
Once we have confirmed numbers, we will then see what the Scouts & Explorers want to do and work within the budget we have set for activities.
The cost of this once in a life time camp is expected to be £1200 each participant. We will be able to confirm the final amount once we have confirmed numbers, but don’t expect it to increase much more if any.
We are asking for a £100 deposit to be paid no later than 30th November 2021 to confirm your place. The balance can be made in instalments throughout 2022 and 2023. The dates for the payments will be made available once numbers have been confirmed.
We will always work with you if you are having trouble paying, or making a payment on time. This activity is open to all irrespective of their financial background; please contact us for further information.
This camp covers almost everything, from transport getting there camp fees, activities, travel insurance to name a few things.
Somethings you will need to make sure you have.
There may be some other items, and we will tell you about them as soon as possible, but they are the main three.
We will be doing fundraising events throughout 2022 and 2023 to help keep the cost down even more, we will be looking for parents input and to help organize these events with the help of leaders.
We will encourage you all to participate and even do some fundraising them selves as well, and will always support them.
There are grants available from Scout HQ and local depending on you and your family current situation, please contact us for more information.
